Several projects are underway to equip our high school students with equitable training, learning, and competition environments.
At Zeeland East High School, multiple roofing replacements have been made to ensure students stay safe, warm, and dry. Other renovations have occurred in the gymnasium, such as lighting and bleacher replacements, to improve the spectator and competition experience. An addition and renovation are also underway for the physical education space to enhance the Chix’s fitness, training, and learning opportunities. The addition will include an indoor turf, a multipurpose training surface with fitness equipment, and two dedicated health classrooms. Construction is currently underway and is expected to be completed in December 2024.
Zeeland West High School is receiving similar upgrades, including renovating its existing physical education space. The Dux will also receive an indoor turf surface and a durable, multipurpose floor to support many student activities and fitness equipment. Lighting replacements have already occurred for the gymnasium, and new mechanical systems for the natatorium will soon be installed to improve indoor air quality for swimmers and spectators. Construction will occur over the summer and should be completed in time for the new school year.
